What it does
Every email the product sends — invoices, offers, support replies, payslip notices, password resets — goes through one outbound path with one suppression list and one audit log. Mailgun can be the service that path delivers through, using Mailgun's SMTP relay.
Setup steps
1. In Mailgun, add your sending domain and complete its DNS verification (SPF and DKIM).
2. Copy the SMTP credentials for that domain from Mailgun — the username is postmaster@<your-domain>, and the password is the domain's SMTP password.
3. In your email settings, add a sender, choose the Mailgun SMTP preset, and paste the credentials. A workspace admin can do this; it does not need us.
4. Send a test email from the same screen and check it arrives.
What to know today
- Sending works through SMTP. There is no Mailgun API connection; the preset fills in Mailgun's SMTP host and port for you.
- Delivery tracking is not connected yet. Mailgun's delivery, bounce and complaint webhooks are not wired to Mailgun senders, so bounces and complaints are not fed back into your suppression list automatically. If that matters to you, Postmark and Amazon SES both feed bounces and complaints back automatically.
- One suppression list still applies. Anyone already on your suppression list is skipped, whichever sender you use.
