The honest version
What actually breaks — before it costs you a Monday morning.
- ClickUp automations are re-created, not imported. Our Automation module maps to the same when-then shape but the node vocabulary is different. Expect 1-3 hours per automation for a team of average complexity.
- ClickUp custom fields with formulas depending on ClickUp-specific functions (`=IF_CHECKED` etc.) need manual porting. Simple field-math + string-concat imports cleanly.
- Historical time-tracking data below the assisted-migration threshold (< 10k rows) imports in the same batch; larger histories run as a dedicated backfill job (usually overnight).
- ClickUp Chat threads DO NOT import — Odexy Chat is thread-per-entity, so the mental model is different. New chats start fresh; old ClickUp chats stay accessible read-only in your ClickUp workspace during the parallel period.
- ClickUp Docs with complex embeds (Whimsical / Miro / Figma iframes) import as prose blocks with an "original embed" link — the iframes need re-adding via the CMS embed block.
