Hiring at Odexy — for the build year

Open roles and the kind of engineer + designer + operator we're looking for. We dogfood our own Recruitment module.

By Odexy team

We're a small team building Odexy in public, in 2026. We hire for the build year — the year before we have customers numbered in the thousands. The work is different from a scaling-company engineering role, and we want to be honest about it.

Who we're looking for

Engineers — fullstack. We work in TypeScript end-to-end (TanStack on the front, Postgres + Drizzle on the back). You'll write actions, schemas, policies, and the UI that calls them. You'll think about the AI's interface to the same code on day one. You won't be specialized into "backend" or "frontend" for a long time.

Designers — we want the polish-first product designer. The DataTable, the empty state, the dark-mode contrast, the printed payslip's typography — all matter. We have one design system across 14 modules; the consistency is non-negotiable.

Solutions / customer engineers — for design-partner onboarding. You'll spend half your week on customer calls, half writing migration scripts that ingest the customer's old data into our schema. This role is a real career path if you like the boundary between engineering and product.

What the year looks like

  • Q1-Q2 2026: product + module consolidation. Phase 2 marketing site, the few remaining shipped-module polish passes, the SaaS console hardening.
  • Q3 2026: SOC 2 readiness, paid launch, design-partner case studies turn public.
  • Q4 2026: scale the partner program, ship the inventory module to GA, harden support tickets + KB.

If you want a job where you sit in one product area for a year, this isn't it. Everyone touches everything.

How we hire

We dogfood our own Recruitment module. Open roles are in our system, applications post through our own apply form, offers go out as Odexy-generated PDFs, joining packs are signed via our HRM signature flow. We feel every paper cut our customers feel.

The hiring loop:

1. Application — one form, no LinkedIn-import vendor in the middle.

2. 30-min intro call — with a founder.

3. Take-home (paid) — a small thing we'd actually use. Bring it to the interview.

4. Take-home review + system-design conversation — 90 minutes.

5. Reference calls — 2-3.

6. Offer.

End to end: 2-3 weeks if everyone moves quickly.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary for the build-year stage — we'll be transparent in the offer.
  • Real equity. Not "0.0001%" — meaningful slices.
  • Remote-first with one in-person week per quarter.
  • All the tools your role needs.
  • 25 days PTO + public holidays in your jurisdiction.
  • Health benefits per jurisdiction.
